Why a tab isn't enough
Room light, fatigue and the background all change how a tab reads. Two people can read the same tooth differently. That's where most shade remakes start.
What we use
A digital shade system that holds the full VITA range and bleach shades, so the target color is measured and recorded, not eyeballed.
Where it matters most
Anterior crowns, veneers and layered zirconia or E.max, where the restoration sits next to natural teeth.
How to send shade
Send your shade notes and photos with the case, or bring the patient to the Tarzana lab for a shade appointment.
Shade photos that help
Take photos in daylight-balanced light with the shade tab in the same plane as the tooth, plus one with the tab beside the prep for stump shade. Avoid colored walls and lipstick in frame. Text them to (818) 687-0085 with the case.
